Opportunity: Become a Disaster Heath Services Member and help families affected by home fires and other disasters with health related needs

Detailed Description: The American Red Cross of the Bay Area responds to about 1 home fire per day. Health professionals are needed to provide disaster health care to clients (adults and children) affected by these home fires and large disasters. Health professionals may help with needs such as medication replacement, medical device assistance, basic first aid, etc. For a larger disaster response, Health Professionals are needed for similar functions within shelters. Responders can help locally in the Bay Area, throughout the state, or deploy across the country.
Medical Specialty needed: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, Physician Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic, Retired RN/LPN/LVN within past 5 years.
Time Required: Flexible – we work with your schedule. For a large disaster response operation, commitment can be 3 – 10 days.
