Detailed Description of activities:
The Sacramento Physicians' Initiative to Reach out, Innovate and Teach (SPIRIT) program meets the healthcare needs of the community by recruiting and placing physician volunteers to provide free medical services to our region’s uninsured. SPIRIT is a collaborative partnership between SSVMS, Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health, Sutter Health, UC Davis Health and Sacramento County.
Volunteer opportunities available for retired specialty physicians to provide consults at the Sacramento County Health Center. Contact SPIRIT to start the application process.
Medical Specialty needed: Allergy and Immunology, Dermatology. Orthopedic/Surgery consult; wound care. Radiology; read 15-20 films one day per week
Location: Sacramento County Health Center, Broadway/Stockton Blvds, Sacramento
Time Required: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, based on volunteer availability; typically 4-6 consults scheduled ½ day per month.

Malpractice Insurance: SPIRIT Program volunteers approved by Sacramento County are covered by County Professional Liability. Contact SPIRIT to start the application process.
